Holograms are now available in a variety of Colours. These can be matched to corporate colours or for the Hologram blend in with the packaging on which it is affixed.
A higher security option is to use dual or tri-colour foils. For example; silver can be combined with green or red can be combined with green & blue. For this purpose standard colours are available or customized colours can also be generated.

It is becoming imperative for organizations to keep a track of goods & indeed the Holograms themselves. For this purpose, the customer to opt for inkjet numbering or customized codes on Holograms.
This form of variable information can include serial nos. / batch codes / date of manufacturing thus leading to customization of each Hologram.

Variable information is permanently imprinted on the Hologram for customization, higher security. The metallic layer of the Hologram is ‘etched’ in the shape / type of writing required using a high-powered laser. This is a permanent etching & cannot be removed by any means & is therefore tamperproof.
Laser etching can include logos, text, alphanumeric codes or numbers etc.

Due to lack of time or budget constraints, customers sometimes choose to get Stock Holograms overprinted with their logos / brand name etc. Such Holograms are made using generic security messages such as ‘authentic’, ‘original’, ‘genuine’ etc. which appear in a wallpaper type continuous pattern.
No Master Origination costs are involved.

Variable information can be printed on the Hologram using invisible UV inks which are visible only through a UV light source. This helps in second stage authentication & also to track goods throughout the chain of distribution in a covert manner.
UV inks can also be used to print wallpaper type patterns across each Hologram as an additionally security feature.

Companies have the option of tying in their promotion schemes with Holographic security by printing hidden codes, images or winning amounts on the Holograms
A special scratchable coating is applied on a certain part of the Hologram under which variable information can be printed. When the end user of the Hologram scratches of the coating, the hidden information will become visible.

Thermal printing is a widely used process to customize labels by printing barcodes / serial nos. & other variable information. This process can now be combined with Holograms thereby offering the dual advantage of security & traceability.

This is another way to customize Holograms whereby the visible codes or numbers are visible permanently on the Holograms in a whitish colour. This can be done without changing the Master everytime through chemical etching on the Master copies.
For example; a Company may opt to give location codes on different Holograms to depict destination or winning amounts of promotion schemes can be etched.
