In keeping with this adage, Shriram Veritech has developed a unique system of counter verifying the genuine ( or counterfeit ) product through a High Security Hologram / Random Codes / SMS messaging. Now that the penetration of mobile phones and the resultant usage of SMS has increased manifold, this unique system can truly empower the end user to verify the product and the hologram and purchase a genuine product. |

The Hologram will carry a unique Alphanumeric randomly generated `Code’ (up to 16 digits), covered with a scratchable coating, thus hiding it. The Code will be generated by the application server at Shriram Veritech and will be customer / product specific. The Code can be fully random or partly fixed / partly random / partly sequential, depending upon the specification and requirements of the customer. The Hologram will be affixed by the User Co. on its products. The Co. will also print instructions for its’ customers on how to use this system and authenticate the product. Before purchase, the Customer will scratch the Hologram so that the Alphanumeric code becomes visible. The Customer will then SMS this alphanumeric code to the SMS Server ( number of which will be printed by the user co. with authentication instructions ). This number can either be a regular 10 digit number or be a 4 digit number given by the service provider ( eg. 8888 / 7827 etc. ). |

After receipt of this SMS, the SMS Server at Shriram Veritech will verify the ID with its’ database and a
customized message will be sent to the customer. The ID will also be flagged on the database so that it cannot be used again i.e. the same Code cannot be authenticated again. In case of any mistake by the customer in forwarding the Code, an error message will be sent asking the customer to recheck the Code and resend. If, on resending the Code, the system is unable to validate the Code ( because it is a counterfeit product and hence, the Hologram & Code is not authentic ), then the customer will get a customized message alerting him that the product is not authentic. At this stage, the customer can choose to not purchase the counterfeit product and alert the manufacturing Company so that the fraudulent dealer can be investigated. Our software can also give information to the customer such as no. of authentications / no. of error messages etc. |
